I am Favour Nnennaya Obinna, a 2nd Year BSc Adult Nursing Student at UWS Lanarkshire Campus. I am a Nigerian and have lived in Scotland for about 13 years. I hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Microbiology/Biology (Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnics, Unwana, Nigeria), a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Forestry and Environmental Management (Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria) and an MSc in Waste and Resource Management (UWS).
I have worked in Nigeria as a Biology teacher, a project manager with the Christian Council of Nigeria on climate change, and a project manager for a children's home in Southeast Nigeria. In addition, I have worked as a Call Centre assistant and care assistant in Scotland. In all my work, I have always held the values of accountability, empathy, and compassion as I discharge my duties and support the staff working with me. My Christian principles drive my life. I am a team player, compassionate, friendly, and kind. I am married with four children (two boys and two girls). As a student trustee, I desire to work with the team to ensure that student's educational journey is successful by listening to their needs, taking the same to the appropriate quarters, and ensuring that their voices are heard and responded to appropriately.
