      For UWS Union to recognise the persecution of Uighur Muslims in China

      Why you think it is important

      The current situation is not being taken seriously in many parts in the world and especially post-Brexit where we could be looking at the UK making a trade deal with China, we need to speak up against these crimes against humanity.

      Is there anything else you think we should know?

      Uighurs have been sent to "re-education camps" to "integrate" with Chinese culture. The treatment in these places has included forcing them to drink alcohol. The persecution against this group has been vast and resulted in vast camps being built in under 2 years with large extensions ongoing.
