Alumni tuition fee discounts should be offered to our Ph.D. students

    Passed
Alumni tuition fee discounts should be offered not only to our master's students but also to our Ph.D. students. Current policy: 20% discount on Masters’ Degree tuition fees for UWS Alumni.* If you are a former student of the university, you are automatically a member of our Alumni Association and may be eligible for a 20% discount on master's degree tuition fees* for full-time study courses.

Why you think it is important

      1. Ph.D. students incur additional expenses compared to master's students, including conference registration fees, travel and accommodation costs during conferences, CPD training course fees, research and data collection expenses, and more. 2. Given the longer duration of a Ph.D. course (four and a half years), it involves higher living expenses. A 20% tuition fee discount can make a meaningful difference, especially for those facing financial challenges. It contributes to enhancing the overall well-being of PhD students. 3. The introduction of a 20% tuition fee discount for Ph.D. students is expected to attract more alumni to pursue their Ph.D. research at UWS, fostering increased contributions to the university both academically and socially.
