Student Cards - Why Do They Cost So Much to Replace? (Policy Lapse)

    Passed
To mandate the Students Association to contact the university to determine how much it actually costs to replace student cards and to advocate for students to pay cost price to replace their student cards.

Why you think it is important

Charging £10 for a student card is a really high cost. Especially when students are required to use these to sign into classes and to take resources out from the library. Why is a profit being made from student at every turn, from student cards to graduation fees, to the high prices in the canteens. In a university such as ours, we need to understand how these extra costs force students to undertake more labour outside of university time. These additional labour hours prevent students from engaging actively in their programmes and do cause increased instances of mental health difficulties.

Is there anything else you think we should know?

      Passed March 2019
