Here you can find a list of all the policies which have been passed by student council. We're working on a live tracker so you can check the progress of each policy, but until we've got that up and running please contact your student president team to ask for an update on policies. You can also check out current ideas and rejected ideas.

    Let's Find Out What's Going on in Our Library (Policy Lapse)

      To instruct the students association to conduct a research project into funding for our library services. Such a study should seek to determine levels of funding from each academic school and what increase or decrease in funding was used for library resources year on year. Under and over spends should also be included in such a study. Should a Freedom of Information request or hiring of a student intern be required, this policy agrees with such a use of students association funds.

      Why you think it is important

      Students have, in previous student councils, raised concerns about the drastic underfunding of our library resources, with several student reps attesting to using resources of other universities due to the failings of our own. This research project will allow the students association to understand where exactly the issue lies. After a report is produced, sabbatical officers will be able to take this report forward to liaise with the university to improve such services
