Why is UWS making it so hard to find a room to use? (Policy Lapse, Submitted by Ellie Gomersall)

    Current
The Students' Union should contact the university to ask for a reason why they have removed the ability for students to view room and staff availability on CELCAT and to work with them to restore this ability.

Why you think it is important

Over the summer, CELCAT updated preventing students from viewing room bookings, limiting this privilege only to staff. This makes it incredibly hard for students to find a room to use, be it for private group study or for societies and extracurricular activity. Students currently have to just wander about campus until they find an empty room, and have no guarantee that a class won't turn up to kick them out at any time. In addition the removal of the ability to view staff availability makes it increasingly difficult to ask staff for help in person, making the university's open door policy somewhat redundant.

Is there anything else you think we should know?
