A clerk in a court assists with administrative and procedural duties to ensure the smooth running of legal proceedings. In the School Mock Court Case Project, clerks escort the sheriff into and out of the courtroom, time-keep the children using iPads, and pass documents during the case.
The School Mock Court Case Project is an educational initiative in the UK that gives school pupils hands-on experience of the legal system. Students take on roles such as solicitors, witnesses, and court officials, preparing and presenting a fictional case in a real courtroom setting. Guided by legal professionals, the project helps develop critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, and an understanding of the justice system.
