ROLE DESCRIPTION

The opportunity to provide walking support in a 1:1 or group setting to those living with one or more of our conditions. Everyone has the right to live life to the full. After a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition, stroke, or Long Covid, many people experience fear and isolation, and struggle with the impact on their lives. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to. Across Scotland, we provide vital advice, information, and support through our No Life Half Lived strategy.

What you will be doing:

  • You’ll provide in person support to people living with our conditions in the community, at home or in a hospital setting, empowering and enabling them to engage fully with walking activities and gentle exercise where appropriate.
  • Embrace a non-judgement, supportive approach to enable service users to achieve their goal(s).
  • Undertake walk leader & first aid training if appropriate.
  • Complete a record of activity and progress.
  • Update Co-ordinator with any concerns or identified areas where additional support may be required.
  • Attend (in person or virtual) 6 weekly support & supervision session with Co-ordinator.
